I heard they don't make you wear your ruck anymore in the summer, they just truck them around for you...
I went through in the winter...some days it was cold as shit, but we didn't have to spend much time in the water in Florida.

There's a guy in my class that got booted for multiple integrity violations. I ran into him and he told me he told his parents that he got kicked out for having gatorade is his locker. From my experience, it seemed like the cadre gave people more than enough of a chance to make it through if they ...

Just Graduated Class 04-05
Rangers,
I just completed the most recent RIP class that graduated last Friday. I'm excited to be staying here with 3rd Battalion.
Thanks for all of the advice and encouragement along the way. I definitely benefitted from having this site as a resource. I know that the hard part is yet to come ...

Pilgrim,
I am in RIP Hold right now. Although I am not exactly sure about how soon the next class will start, it seems like they are moving people through quickly, so hopefully you will not have to be in hold for too long.
I was also kept in hold at Sand Hill for two weeks after graduation, and at ...

Another 5 jump chump (RANGER)
I just graduated with Weidert from Delta Company on the 3rd. Jumping out of an airplane was defintely the most exciting thing I've ever done. As soon as the jumpmaster yells out "30 seconds", my adrenaline was rushing until I got off of the Drop Zone.
I'm in the same boat as Weidert with RIP Hold ...

Checking in with good news (RANGER)
Fortunately I was able to secure a slot to airborne/RIP. They gave out about 12 airborne/RIP slots to my company. It seems to have been pretty much based on PT scores for those who volunteered. Even though I wasn't that satisfied with my second PT test, it seems to have been enough to get a slot ...

Checking in from OSUT (RANGER)
We just finished week 7 of training down here. Like Weidart said in his letter, we are in the same Company, C 2/54. We just did hand grenades and M203's this past week.
Like he said, the PT is definitely not very intense, I try to do as much extra as I can in my free time at night. Although, I ...

I just wanted to thank all of the Rangers and veterans on this site who have provided me with so much info and advice. There is a vast amount of knowledge on this site and I feel that I am much better prepared for what lies ahead because of this forum. I haven't posted much in a while because I have ...

Ranger Spartan,
I've had a similar experience, but not one that really fits into the options you listed.
I had a girlfriend who professed to be an expert in the outdoors, and also had a lot of nice new gear. But when we got out to where we were camping/hiking, there was pretty steady rain with no ...
