I belive Memorial Day is a holiday that is one of the few non-commericialized holidays, and is (to me at least) one of the most important. I visted a aircraft carrier and a submarine in charelston SC today. On the sign to the entrance to the carrier it sayed "Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrafice" I belive that sums it up, Memorial day is for remembering those who made that sacrafice, their life, so we can go on today and live out a full and free life.

I know I am a little late and I appologize for this, however I would like to reply to this. Ranger Spartan, I believe that Memorial Day is a holiday where civilians and non civilians alike reflect on the Freedom that the armed forces have given us. I believe that this is a day where we thank the veterans who have "stepped up to the plate" so to speak and have allowed us to be free and enjoy the everyday things that most of us Americans take for granted. Thank you all for your service.
