Kahn, you came here looking for information on something that your interested in, but you started talking shit when a member says something to you about the way you spank the Guard.

Your a PFC in a Guard Unit, many of us here have been there ourselves. I'm gong to tell you like it is, if you don't like it, tough shit. "YOU ARE A PFC!" You don't have enough time in uniform to have earned the right to form to much of an opinion about the entire Army National Guard. The Guard is just like the Regular Army, you have good Units and ones that aren't that good. It's still a unit in the US Armed Services and it serves a purpose. It takes all services and all MOS's to make the Big Green Money Machine operate efficiently. And for that it deserves our respect as well as yours. You didn't like it there so your doing something about it, I did the same thing many years ago but for some different reasons. The men in that unit are there as volunteers to do a job that others don't have the sack to do, for that they have my respect as well as many others on and off of this board.

While you are here you will follow our rules. This is a Ranger House, Rangers built it, and Rangers run it. If you don't like it, hit the bricks. It will be your loss because there isn't another board like it on the net.

I did not get to finish due to work, I am spending my Thanksgiving on an Ambulance for 24hrs. Due to a run I was unable to finish till now.

What I was gonna say after my original post was Welcome, You might want to be careful how you refer to NG and Reserves due to the fact that many of these Ranger's have served and are serving in the NG and Reserves. We are guests and therefor we do not get to give our opinions like that unless asked.

There are fucked up Soldiers and Units everywhere in the Army, There is nothing that you can do to escape that. You, however, can be an example and through time achieve a rank that will allow you to make a difference. Your attitude shows me that you are part of the problem. Take a moment and look at the Army Values, One last piece of advice and if you take nothing out of this thread except this, Be very careful who you spout off to while online. You never know if the person here you tell to fuck off will be your Ranger Instructer, Platoon Sgt., or even your 1SG down the road as you try to complete your goal.

if you don't like the tone you've received from the NCOs, and the Rangers here, you may want to reevaluate going active. this same tone is the tone you will see in your leaders if you manage to make it through RIP, magnified beyond your belief. You've also disrespected regular NCOs, who you will end up working for if you fail to get to RIP or complete it. with the attitude you are displaying, you won't make it through RIP for that reason alone.

if you want to stay on this board you had better come up with a very compelling argument to stay. a contrite appology to the Rangers and NCOs that you've disrespected would be a good start. I seriously doubt you would take that tone with the NCOs in person, so I don't know why you feel safe to act that way here. you are a soldier 24/7. period. I don't give a shit how anyone else acts in your opinion, that doesn't excuse your behavior in how you choose to respond to them. and I don't want to hear any excuses of "they started it, so I finished it." if you want to maintain that attitude, have a nice life.

I can't believe that the Reserve Components still haven't earned your respect (NG included) after all the great work they have done for OEF and OIF. You are definitely using too broad a brush by saying that the Guard isn't part of your "REAL army." That is the greatest insult you can give those Soldiers who have been mobilized and away from home for a hell of a lot more than your 9 weeks of basic and 6 weeks of 88M AIT. To top it all off, the ARNG runs the Pre-Ranger course and I have heard nothing but great things about those great Rangers and Soldiers down there at Benning. I also think that COL K, the 20th SF Group Commander, would get a kick out of hearing that his unit is not part of the "REAL army" of which you speak. I think I'll get him laughing with that one the next time I see him around town. 91W was right, Kahn, it's a small Army.
