Unformed
So, what did your comment mean? I'm not calling your out. I'm asking for information. Is something amiss?
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!

Thanks for allowing me to clarify Ranger Bill,Ranger Bill wrote:So, what did your comment mean? I'm not calling your out. I'm asking for information. Is something amiss?
I was a bit confused that he was a college grad and he was choosing to enlist so that he could become a Ranger, even though Officers are eligible to try and become Rangers.
He cleared up my confusion by stating that he wants to become enlisted first, and then later perhaps seek a commission as an Officer. I apologize if I caused any futher confusion.

Unformed, good intro. Listen, should you make it that far, and I truly hope you do, remember one thing for me, always.
It's a combination of brain's and gut's that gets the mission done, and takes care of the men, never think that because you have degree's, a higher I.Q. or a 98 on the ASVAB, or because you want to become an officer, that you are smarter than the Ranger next to you that's been living in the hole for a while before you got there. Good amount of common sense, the will to survive, and good discipline will always prevail over plain book smarts.
And that my friend, is why you never see Einstein with a rifle in his hands,
but you will hear Rangers saying (if you make it that is) "that guy is a fucking genious in the field."
Humility and Brotherhood, is where the bond begins.
(I think someone slipped something into my coffee this morning.)

CloakAndDagger:
I took the bubblesheet ASVAB.
Foozbat:
I thought the same when I first read your intro. I also used it, in addition to others, as a guide in writing my own as it was well-received.
Ranger Cams:
Thank you for your advice. One of the reasons I am walking away from my degrees is to get into something where I don't know anything and I can learn as if I was six again. I am ready to shut the fuck up and listen to those who have come before me.
If and when I do pass these tests, the knowledge I have from earlier will always be useful.
Other Rangers:
Thank you for your welcomes.

Welcome, Unformed. A man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression, and you are one of the few that has been successful. I applaud your decision to enlist for the Ranger Regiment, it will be far more educational than any time spent on campus. Please take the opportunity to read the Ranger Creed and begin to memorize it. It will be helpful later.

Hold on now, don't walk away from your degree's, you've earned them, and that knowledge may or may not come into play at some point, that's great, just don't let that be the do-all with your decision making, or think that it will make you better than the guy next to you, should you become a leader of some sort that is.One of the reasons I am walking away from my degrees
That is all. Go read.
