Update
Rangers, It has been a while since I've seen a computer, but I wanted to update. I graduated OSUT June 11th and after some time in hold, moved into Airborne today. We begin on Monday. I scored a 300+ on my last PT test, but since then have not had much opportunity to run. My Scores: PU:79 SU:80 2 mi...

Re: Shipping Out
Ranger Jim, I have learned a great deal from you Rangers and this site. By reading through and following this forum, I have been able to gain access to the knowledge and experiences of men who have achieved what I can only dream about. I have learned that you Rangers do not view your time in Regimen...

Shipping Out
Rangers, I'm shipping out to Benning next Monday and want to thank you all for the advice on enlisting and preparation for the journey to come. I'm honored that I will soon be wearing the same uniform as so many great men and women before me. Again, much thanks and I will use all that I have learned...

Ranger Rock Island Ranger,
No point other than I found it an interesting and relevant piece of news for the board, and decided to post it for the Rangers and others to view. I am in no place to comment on it or provide an opinion. I apologize if I was incorrect in my actions.

Update and Thanks
Rangers, Friday, after about 4 months of trying, I was able to secure my 11x/Opt 40. I told me recruiter that I was going to have my paperwork moved to another office. He freaked and within two days was able to get me the contract. My grandfather was a Ranger in WW2, so my recruiter's 1st Sgt called...

Re: Obtaining a Contract
Ranger Panthersix, Thank you very much for the advice and I will take it into strong consideration, but other Rangers' advice on these boards has advised me to hold out for the Ranger contract and that is what I plan on doing. That was my goal after graduating college and I will stick with it. Thank...

Re: Obtaining a Contract
Thank you Rangers and all for the advice, I am going to talk to a new recruiter soon but I won't sign anything other than the Opt 40. I appreciate the responses.

Re: Obtaining a Contract
Thank you Ranger wellfed and Ranger Baseplate, I'm in NY and my recruiter is in the Boston area, I started working with him before I graduated college up there. He said he wants to wait for me to go to MEPS, by which time he says he will have an Opt 40 locked in for me, and I will get the entire enl...

Obtaining a Contract
Rangers, I have been working with and waiting for my recruiter to secure an 11x Opt40 for about a month or so now, and still no progress. He says he calls (whoever) every day and is being told there will be no slots available until March. He knows that is the only contract I am interested in and isn...

Re: New Book
Ranger ., I finished Where Men Win Glory today and found it to be both a well-written book and a rewarding read. Krakauer always tends to focus on individuals who remain outside the norm in regards to their moral convictions as well as their life choices, and Tillman was one such man. We have all he...

New Book
Rangers, Has anyone read the new book Where Men Win Glory , By Jon Krakauer? He's the same Author who wrote Into the Wild and Into Thin Air. It's biography/case study type of look at his life, his time as a Ranger, and the details surrounding his death. I'm about half way through it, it's a pretty g...

Re: Introduction- Ralph
Ranger Jim, Thank you for the advice, running is my focus, as well as the pushup program under the PT section posted by Ranger Silverback. PT 2-mile max is 12:59 I believe, and that is my goal. I attended Stonehill College in Easton, MA. It's a small, liberal arts school. I think about 2,400 student...
