I also met with a recruiter a few days ago and he explained the same thing to me. My recruiter was making the point that getting a 50 on the ASVAB pretty much translates into getting a 110 on the GT, and so that's why I didn't "need to worry" about the 110. I don't know if he is correct about that translation or not, but that's the impression I left with.

Also, I did end up taking the ASVAB, but I'm not sure how much you can really "prepare" for it... maybe do some practice SAT questions?

The math stuff isn't too tough if you take your time and read each question carefully to figure out what it's asking for. Make sure you're comfortable with doing any type of computation (long division, multiplication with decimals, algebra etc.) by hand. I hadn't done some of that stuff since high school without a calculator either, and it took me a few minutes to figure out what I was doing.

actually, with the new test it's "B".

anyway, though we may obtian line score exception for certain contracts, i don't recommend this. if you think you need a week to study, take it.

Go to your local library, there are a few books that I found that are pretty good. The first time I took the ASVAB I got a 70. After studying with the ASVAB prep. book I got a 73, stay focused and get it done. Best of luck!!

I wouldn't say getting a 50 on the ASVAB would get you a 110 GT, I got 70 and only got a 111 GT. If u want you can buy one of those prep books for the ASVAB, i bought one, they are really good.
