Introduction

Post by Makarov001 »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Erik…yes another Erik. I am age 32 and have secured an 11x with Option 40(RGV4) contract on 20041215. My ship-date is 20050126. I have wanted to do this since childhood. I figured it was about time I do this.

Before I ship out, I wanted send my heart-felt thanks to everyone on this site. The advise all of you take the time out of your day to share is invaluable. I especially wanted to thank Ranger EarthPig for posting the recruits SITEREPs. Ranger EarthPig, without this service I would be more nervous than I am at the present.

I am looking forward to shipping out and beginning my journey. I most likely will not post much but will check in from time to time and continue to absorb your hard earned knowledge.

Wow! Impressive! I was nearly 31 when I enlisted. You beat me! Welcome and thanks for signing on the dotted line. This will be the toughest thing you have ever done in your life. It will be worth it, though. Show these kids how it's done. Best of luck to you. Let me know if I may assist in any way.

Welcome and thank you for stepping up. I am sure you will find it is the finest thing you could have done.

My son really appreciated the older guys in OSUT. He went in right out of High School and the presence of the older guys was so helpful to him. He said they helped the whole platoon's attitude and steadiness. Also, he admired them for having lived a life as an adult and come into the Army. It seemed to boost his confidence in his decision to be there, too.

Go show those young bucks how it's done! Let us hear from you now and then. :)

I dunno, I didn't have a hard time with them in training, but my first 21 year old E-6 and I didn't get along AT ALL.

Best of luck Erik.
