My name is John. I am 28 yrs old and enlisted on 20041229. I depart for OSUT/BAT in Ft. Benning on 20050503. I scored 87 on the ASVAB (GT 119) but was told by the counsler that I could not get the clearance needed for an Opt. 40 because of a debt over $3500 (an insurance claim against me). It could have been avoided by some better heads up on my part so I've swallowed my medicine and paying. I'm not going to let this ruin my goal of becoming a Ranger so I plan to earn the chance to attend RIP as soon as I'm able to.

I just found this site a few days ago and plan to soak up all the info I can before beging my military career. All that I have read has been useful so I plan to read more and post little.
