Ray80...back at work.

Post by Earthpig »

I received another letter from Ray80 today. He's back in training, after a break for the Holidays. Here's what he wrote:

********************************************************
Ranger EarthPig,
This letter will be my last piece of commo for awhile. I will be busy cleaning things now!! For the DEPs, I would like to give them a simple assignment for the end of OSUT! Here is our packing list for the final FTX in OSUT. Men, I'm practically giving away information that will square you away. DEPs, do your best! I won't be able to write for awhile. Airborne will be busy. Win or lose, I will try to report back.

Thanks for allowing me to share, Rangers. If you feel this violates OPSEC, let me know.

We had the same packing list. Remember - a lot of the shit goes in the duffle that you dont carry with you - it goes on the duece.

I had the same packing list for my FTX and my ruck including the gear I wore weighed almost 65 pounds dry. Add 4 qts of water and a 240 bravo and your flossing at 100 pounds on your persons, but that was probobly the heavist load you could have. However, if you do what most did and skimp on your packing list and load up your duffle with the heavy shit then youll probobly have 50-60 pounds of gear. It all depends on you.

Rays a good guy. I hope he heals up and moves out to BAC soon. Being heldover due to an injury just sucks ass.
