Just tell him you won't sign unless you get what you want. Unless you don't want to be a Ranger? If you really want to be a Ranger and serve in the Regiment then it is worth waiting for. I did and so did many others here, just tell him you won't sign without an option 40.

I was told the same thing 15 years ago and I just waited until they had what I wanted. The mature thing is to get what you want, don't let them pressure you into something you don't.

NO offense to in house recruiter but sometimes I just want to choke those bastards. R2 is correct, son. Immature? It's immature for a rear echelon admin puke to tell a grown man that what he wants is wrong. Stand your ground, young man. We have had others who went through this and got what they wanted.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

Been almost 2 and a half years and i still don't cast myself in with their lot, Ranger.

Just trying to make it out of here. Looks like i may have to leave the Army to do it.

But that's another story.

What a jackass. I've got a good Ranger Buddy I served with in HI. Let me know if he does have 'difficulty'.
