Introduction - Coyote Tan
Hello, I'm Coyote_Tan. I am 17 years old and am a senior in high school. I am not in the DEP, and I am considering pursuing the goal of serving in the Ranger Regiment.
I joined the site to learn more about service in the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Thank you for the welcome and the advice.
As far as a PT test, I am currently undergoing physical therapy for elbow tendonitis, and am resting from running due to shin splints. Both of these issues are due to improper training.
That being said, below are some figures that I have recorded prior to messing myself up:
20 pullups
~85 pushups in 2:00 mins (After I went to the physical therapist to check out the elbow issue, I was informed that it was due to my rear being to low on pushups, so these do not quite count)
75 crunches in 1:00 min (Recorded during personal fitness merit badge for BSA. Not sit-ups, and not for 2:00)
Frankly, my running stinks. I started at 15 mins Mon-Wed-Fri, adding 5 mins each week until 40 minutes. I then brought up one run 5 mins per week until injury.
My last short distance run was 1.5 miles in 12:00
My 40 min run distance was 4 miles
My longest run was for 60 mins and I traveled 5.65 miles
I have completed a 8x400 interval workout averaging 1:25 per 400m with 2 minutes of rest
When it comes to swimming, I have been able to tread water for 45 minutes, and have completed an untimed 2000m swim.

Make sure that you heal fully before starting to run. Please tell us why you want to be a Ranger? Never, never quit!

I will definitely wait to fully heal before running again. I made the mistake last week of running while not 100% healed.
I am considering pursuing service as a Ranger because I want to serve my country. After surveying options within the military, the 75th Ranger Regiment stood out as one of the best facets to serve. I believe that certain people that are willing to do what others are not should fill that role. The Rangers appeal to me because of their high standards, their mission, and their level of dedication and proficiency.

Hello Rangers,
Here is a quick update:

- I have met with a recruiter and we are working together to make sure I am medically eligible. He has been in the Army for 13 years and started in the Armor branch.
- On a more personal note, I earned the rank of Eagle Scout shortly after my introductory post. :)
My short term fitness goals are to build up a running base so I can start working on improving the speed of my miserable run times, to infuse rucking into my routine, to bring my pushups to pre-injury numbers, and to improve my lower body calisthenics.
