I have had a long standing argument with a fellow colleague of mine about the differences between the M16A4 and the M16A2 aside from the rail system.
I know the max range of a point target is 550 and 800 meters for the area target for the M16A2.
The point target is the same on the A4 but the area target is a little smaller if I remember correctly. Can anyone help to clarify this matter? All my soldier manuals still have the A2 in them unfortunately. Thanks

As far as I know they are the same. I am not positive considering that Rangers don't use them. We use M4's.

Just did some research on the M16A4 and there is no difference from the M16A2 except for the rail system.
