Sitrep

Post by Jake-the-Snake »

Graduated OSUT October 4th with a Pt score of 290. Went to airborne and graduated that, the school is a joke, no need to be worried about that. The "41 club" is real so on your PT test do get at the front of the line. The school PT will not prepare you for RASP so after training each day do your own PT. After airborne I went to pre-RASP where all we did was super good PT in the morning then they let us go around 1400. We did another PT test to get into RASP, you just had to pass to army standards. I scored a 320 on that APFT. You did have to perform 6 correct chin ups also. 21 people quit during pre-RASP. We classed up on a Friday, got the weekend off. Started RASP that Monday, did the RSAE, if you can swim you'll pass it. Just don't work yourself up before the test. Tuesday we did a 5 mile run and some classes on weapon systems, Wednesday we did a class on the T-11 parachute. When your not doing a class your getting smoked. If anyone has any questions please ask.

Well, just got threw Cole Range, we lost 1/3 of our class the first day out. I dont want to tell much about it cause i dont want to spoil the fun for the people looking to go into it but it defiantly sucked, in a good way. but i made it. and the class size is now down to 86. All you got to do to get threw it is do everything they tell you to 110% and youll be fine. just dont lose heart. On to week 3 now!

Just got threw week 3. phase 1 is down. week 3 was pretty chill (considering we just got back from cole range). All we did was RFR and get smoked until chow. did a 8 mile ruck run which was pretty intense but i kept pace. overall good week, im hanging in there stronger then ever.

week 4: Well its only Wednesday but its mobility week, we did a class on the humvee on Monday and went and practiced hand and arm signals. Tuesday we did the same thing, put fuel in em, and did PMCS on them, Today we drove them on the off road course which was very fun, then had a written test on them. Tomorrow were jumping from a C-17 and doing a 10 mile ruck then after that were doing medical lanes. and Friday is a half day im thinking so we'll spend the day cleaning more then likely. One more week down though. For PT this week we did a PT test, pushup/pullup/situp drills, a 5 mile run, then the 10 mile ruck tomorrow.

We jumped from the C-17, it was awesome, so much better then the C-130! and i was the door man for the first time. best feeling ever! the 10 mile ruck was rough, out of 85 guys 24 were able to keep pace with the cadre. i kept pace. then we did the medical lanes until about 2000. Friday we just had the standards re-test, PMCS'd the humvees, got our biweekly counseling, and let us go for the weekend.

Week 5: we went to the range on Monday and shot the M9, only shot a few rounds, mostly did dry fires, Tuesday we went to the range and actually got to shoot all day, Wednesday we sighted in M4's at 25 meters. And Thursday we did our 12 mile ruck and turned in the weapons, my 12 mile time was 2 hours and 30 minutes.
