Getting an Opt.40 Contract

Post by ckyrux »

I went to the recruiter today and talked about getting an Opt.40 contract. He told me that a senior in high school can no longer get a contract while still in school, he said that i could get one if my dad writes a recommendation letter because he is an AGR in the reserves. My question is that is this SOP with every senior in school or he BSing me with the letter?

I'm not sure about the senior in high school thing, but your age has a lot to do with all of it. Including having your Dad sign.

When yer 18, you can join and, if you qualify, you can be anything you want to be.

Thats bullshit concidering I have an OPT.40 and I'm a senior in highschool and im 17 and you probably went to the same recruting station I did. So don't fall for that shit and accept NOTHING less than what you want. I went to MEPs and they said they didn't have any OPT.40's available then 2 hours of phone calls later they got one for me.
