SITREP - mckeating

Post by mckeating »

Well I graduated OSUT this last friday, boot camp was a great experience. I learned a lot, met some good guys, and enjoyed myself (Well, most of the time at least). I didn't run into any trouble, scored 300 on the last two PT test, and maxed the marksmanship. It looks like I'll be starting Airborne school on May 24th, which means less than a week of Airborne hold. :)

To anyone preparing to leave for OSUT, there isn't much advice other than to pay attention to detail, move with a purpose, and to volunteer for things. Don't try to "outsmart" the system, do what your told, and do it to the best of your ability. Honestly though, OSUT is very simple and the PT isn't hard - so long as you prepared yourself. I met a few guys with Option 40 contracts that didn't break a 250 on the PT test, just prepare before you leave.

I'm proud to be an infantryman and am looking forward to everything the Army has to offer.

Rangers, thank you for keeping these boards up and full of useful information, its invaluable.
