SitRep

Post by TexasRusty »

On Monday I recieved a call from my recruiting station. 450 11x Option 40 contracts had opened up. I got back from MEPS yesterday and am now sworn in leaving on 20100810 with a 4 yr 19 wk active. This website is the only reason I've gotten this far, thank you Rangers.

Congratulations. Good Luck and do everything you can to succeed.

There are so many posts from young men who want to do what this young man has done and sign a contract to become a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and being told by a recruiter that there are no more Option 40 contracts for the rest of the year.. That is such bullshit. These guys have to realize that recruiters are like car salesmen (sorry if I offended any car salesmen on here :D ). They have quota's and are encouraged to push certain other MOS's, when the higher ups tell them to. Don't believe anything unless it is in a written contract. If you want an Option 40, wait for it, or go to another recruiter. They are out there, it may take a few days or weeks, but if you really want to be a Ranger, then it is worth it.

Conratulations. Don't waste the time you have before you ship. Use every day of it wisely and do PT. Also, and most importantly, do not drink and drive under any circumstance. Getting a DUI before you ship will make you inelligble for a secret security clearance and end your shot at getting into RASP.
