Former 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, served from Jun '71 to Dec '73.
11C2V primary, 11B2V secondary MOS, Spec 4 FDC for 81 mm mortars with C/2/325.
Later worked with HQ Co. 82nd Abn (recruiting) on the 82nd Sport Parachute Team as the FAA Rigger and demo jumper.
Airborne school Nov.'71 D.Grad.
Ranger class 12-72
EIB Qualified '72
Jungle school Jan '72
Wrote Quality Control and manufacturing procedures for Rodriguez Parachute Systems (FAA approved loft). Skydiving gear.
Master Parachute Rigger
Instructor, Jumpmaster, D lic.
Equipment Inspector for '76 US Parachute Championships (1st enforcement of FAA TSO regs by USPA)
Worked for Smith Parachute Co. and built NASA parachutes and harness/containers for the Space Shuttle (after Challenger blew up) 1st Articles. Military gear.
Made gear for Navy jets, other countries Paratroopers, drag chutes, special drones now used in war zones.
Designed ,tested, manufactured parachutes...

Parachutes for the Space Shuttle ??? Hmmm, some of us on here have graduated Space Shuttle Door Gunner School, but its kinda a classified school. :shock:

Welcome aboard. Sounds like if anyone has a parachute question, your gonna be our go-to guy !

Welcome to the site. I never had the opportunity to go to SSDG course. I did get to go to SIMR (Spetznatz Inflight Missile Repair) school though.

Thanks for your life's work! I never had a parachute fail, but I did get thrown out a C-141 on a red light....not good....

Then there was the time I collided with another jump and got entangled.....did I mention I never had a failure to open....:)

Welcome, youngster. It looks like you were in for just a year and made it to Ranger School, and then right after that, attended Jungle School. Impressive.

Welcome All American Ranger. One of my first assignments was with the 82nd at Ft Bragg. One of my last assignments was as a Black Hat, Tower Committee, at Benning. Once upon a time, long, long ago, I served/soared with eagles...
