I'm pretty sure everyone will know about this but I don't see any postings on it. I had the chance to go to the CMP store in Anniston, AL about a month ago. Bought 3 M1 Garand's and 3 M1 Carbines. Ranks up pretty high on one of the greatest days of my life. The Carbines which I've been looking to get went for $495, $575, and $575. Everywhere else I've ever seen them they started at about $700. They all have WWII stamps on the barrels and made by various manufacturers, I got 1ea Inland General Motors and 2ea National Postal. The WWII Garand cost $495 and 2ea CMP specials were $990. Once again cheaper than I had seen before.

Have to be a member of a CMP club.K.Ingraham wrote:I never knew that you could just go there. hmmm, might be a side trip from Rendevious this year.

Prices are ridiculous compared to what they used to be. My first gun was an inland m1 carbine bought at a gun show at the rip old age of 14 for $150. Waay better condition then what I see m1 carbines going for at the gun show.
What happened to the days of $250 mi garands from CMP?????

Walk-ins are good. I was traveling through the area for work but had called in advance to see what I need to have. I walked in with paperwork in hand, drivers license, CCW, and joined their club for $25 on the spot. Walked around and picked out the guns I wanted. Paid 9% sales tax but still worth it for me. I would have paid 7% here in NC and paid $300 more for the gun.

If they accept the DAV card as a membership then I would say yes. However, I'm 99% certain that it needs to be a gun club. The NRA didn't count for me so I joined theirs for $25.
