Got pretty much the same scatter gun, except parkerized black, bead in the front. No choke, but I have a bayonet lug in case it gets really ugly.
I figure my wife could probably handle a scatter gun.....

Not that I need to tell you T, but good choice, that's a good weapon.
Roger that. I just love the simplicity of an 870 and to tell you the truth, I've never used anything else. Shot a friends Mossberg one time and that was cool, but I like to stick with what I know.
Having never bought ammo through the mail, can it be sent directly to my house, or do I have to send it to some dealer with an FFL?
If the FFL is involved, I'll just skip it

I get a lot of ammo from GA Arms as they are somewhat close to me, and the shipping is cheap.
For reloading, buy powder & primers local as the hazardous materials charges for them make it cost prohibitive to buy in normal amounts.

Most ammunition dealers will want you to FAX a copy of your Driver License and/or FAX a signed statement that you are 21 years of age and can legally buy ammunition.

I agree. I used to like the Benelli's until I got involved with using mixed ammo (less lethal types) and found out they didn't have enough power to work the gas operation and kept jamming.
Now it's the 870 for everything, I'll work the action as opposed to the auto, just need to make my rounds get downrange and don't jam.
Lot of confidence in that 870. Enjoy it Brother.
