I'm no expert, but Gunnery Sergeant Tom Highway says that they make a very distinct sound when they are fired at you.

Ranger William McCormack,
My dad recently picked up a Yugo Under folder. I'm gonna fire it in about 2 weeks, I'll let you know how it is.
I've heard from friends that AK's are getting tough to find, or at least will be. Century is running out of receivers and a lot of the Romanian factories are not producing car parts, sadly enough.
*I know you are looking for underfolders, but here are some good sites*
If you want a really high quality AK, you could check out custom made ones such as:
http://www.krebscustom.com/
http://www.redstick-firearms.com/index.html
I have heard excellent things about them. (price is a bit high, but if you're looking for an investment, it may be worth it.)

Ranger William McCormack,
Something I'm going to do as well, I got polymer furniture on the AK, but I'm going to get a set of these to replace it with:

Something you may want to think about :D

Takes a lotta balls to ride out on horseback to face a Panzer assault! Poles did it (now I didn't say it was smart, just that it took a lotta balls ). And it is hereditary I am afraid. I have run into many a bad (very bad) situation on the street as a cop and the realized "Oh, shit it's jus me! )"

Buying from Century is a gamble, but if you do get a good one you just paid $325 instead of $700 or $800. I bought a Century made CETME and must have lucked out as it is a very well built rifle for the money.william mccormack wrote: Cheers for that. Yugo's are up there with Bulgies and Polish in quality but every Yugo that I've seen is on a Century receiver and/or built by Century Arms Int. I've heard some bad things about their parts and work.

Ranger William McCormack,
Jim Fuller builds AK's off of reciever kits. I have seen several of his completed rifles on another forum. Here's a link to his site.
http://www.rifledynamics.com/index.html
After reading several (more than 6) posts regarding his work after receipt and firing, the buyers all seem very happy.
===========
I've heard as indicated in this thread Century can be spotty. I don't recall how there customer service was.
===========
Arsenal Inc. seems to have a good reputation as a factory built supplier.

Not as good as hands on experience for a ringing recommendation. Hopefully some information in the links provided will be of help.
Good luck, and enjoy.

War is cruelty. There's no use trying to reform it, the crueler it is the sooner it will be over.
