Introduction.

Post by whiteman »

-Rangers,
Thank you all for putting time in making this site to help inform us DEP's and others. Ive read a lot of valuable information that I'll take with me into the path of becoming a Army Ranger.

First off, My name is Jake, I'm 18 and finishing my Senior Year in High school. Ive decided collage isn't for me, and really looked into the Army. Ive always had a interest in SF, SEALS, and Rangers etc. I use to watch there training videos and saw how serious and devoted these people were. Thats when I decided that I need to take the step and start my path to growing up and starting my career. I'm currently in DEP with the US army and Ive secured a contract for 11x op. 40. Im leaving with one of my best friends, same contract, and cant wait to ship out.
I really enjoy this site, theres a lot of valuable information, and it seems to keep me on the right track to stay motivated. With people telling me not to go, and basically bashing my Goal of becoming an Army Ranger its a relief to talk to actual Rangers. And I thank you all for that.

ASVAB SCORE- 77
-Army PT SCORES
Push ups- 77
Sit ups- 80
2 Mile Run- 16.52
Pull ups- 20+ ( the "correct" pull ups )
-Actual Army PT test my Recruiter had me do
-Run time needs improved, but its difficult running outside in 10degree weather. So the times will improve when the weather improves.

Thank you all for your time.

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com. If you will look, listen, and pay attention to details, you can learn a lot here.

As Ranger Silverback just pointed out, you are nothing now, but if you put your mind to it and NEVER quit, you might turn into something.

It is in difficult situations and your ability to "adapt" to them that will set you apart from all the rest. 8)

Change your name btw cause you haven't earned the right to be called a Private First Class.

Rangers,
Thank you for the warm welcomes.

Ranger Silverback, you are right, I am a civilian now, I'm not able to change my name, need help from an Admin.

Ranger JLTW and Ranger Bugsy, you both are right, and I will not make another excuse, and I will improve that run time now.

Thank you all, looking forward to exploring the information this site has to offer.

Ummm, a few fuckups, but not a bad intro.

The fucking excuse about your run time obviously didn't fly to well among the Warriors here, huh ?

Make a note to yourself: NO MORE FUCKING EXCUSES. Period.

Read more, post less. And most of all......

NEVER QUIT.

Welcome.

Because you are a civilian they're playing nice so as not to scare you off with 'cold weather' training, believe me, when you arrive, the world turns upside down toot sweet.

You've already learned a very important lesson. Just because it's cold out doesn't mean the fighting stops.

You will experience the absolute worst conditions of your life during this journey, learn to like it, to turn it off, whatever it takes, but you will be tested to the extreme.

When you see Rangers laying in the freezing, pouring rain, who have been soaked for several days, wrinkled and raw fingers that just don't move right anymore, raw feet, clothes stuck to the body with dirt, mud, sweat and blood, bugs crawling up your legs, down you neck, in your fucking ears, no hot chow, barely any cold chow, no hot chocolate with fucking marshmellows and these men still have the mentality of a couple guys chilling on the deck in the hot sun and voicing nary a complaint, even calling the Rain God a pussy, egging him on for more, so it sucks more, because they know the average person is crumbling under these conditions and the fight will be won by the hardest men, you know that you've arrived.

Carry on young stud, carry on.
