Introduction

Post by Wannabe75 »

Hi, my name is Jack, and I'm 16 years old.

I'm not a DEPer or anything yet, but I have been reading around a lot and pretty much decided what I want to do with my life. I come from a sort of a military family, and can't thank of a better thing to do than serve my country, especially in the post-9/11 world we live in. I like to think of myself as a history buff and am very interested in all aspects of the American military. For whatever reason I've been drawn most to the Rangers. I plan on going to a recruiter and signing with an 11x/Abn/Opt 40 contract as soon as I turn 17.

Admittedly I don't really know anything about how stuff really works... I'm trying to think of how I can put this. I know: I'm a dumbass 16 year-old wannabe, hence the username. :P I don't expect to be posting much, more watching and listening than anything. Anyway, so that's me in a nutshell. I look forward to a future in the Army and hope I can make a good impression here... furthermore, I'd appreciate any advice I may receive but until then I'll keep quiet. Glad to be a part of such a great community as this site, and even more so to lie in such a great country as the USA.

Ummm, not a bad intro for a 16 year old, and a decent recovery from your " lie " fuck up.

Welcome.

Rangers,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really think, actually I know I can pull this off. Hard work and determination has always worked for me and I don't expect that to change any time soon,

Ranger Invictus,

Southern California. Thankfully, not the "liberal democratic socialist" part. Sorry for not showing up or responding for so long, I've been busy studying (school and otherwise) and doing PT. Actually, I found a few of a relatives' old badges from Vietnam, namely a brass (gold?_ "US" label button, expert rifle badge, and a battalion crest for the 307th AEB. I know he was deployed to the RVN during the war, so I can assume based on what I've read that he was with the 82nd Airborne at some point in '68-'69.

Just an interesting tidbit of information I managed to dig up from my family's past, Rangers...

You're absolutely right.

Do this:
Wannabe75 wrote: I don't expect to be posting much, more watching and listening than anything.
And maybe you'll accomplish this:

Listen to the DEPS, they'll square you away.

Jack,

PM inbound. You still need to square yourself away with an avatar.
