Hello Rangers!
My name is John, I am 17 years old and have one semester left of High School left. I recently signed an 11X option 40 contract with the Army and wont ship out until February. I learned from an early age from my father who who went airborne infantry and then went Green Beret in Vietnam that i have always wanted to join the Army and do something special with my life. I've always thought of the Rangers very highly and have always wanted to do what others before me have done with such great virtue and passion.
I learned about this website and thought since you guys are and were apart of the best of the best, y'all could help me through the process of becoming all that i can be.
I thought about going to Virginia Military Institute but i found my calling to join the army about a year ago and have stuck with the process ever since. I have never thought about the money other wise i would have never enlisted with the army! I want to be challenged mentally and physically like i have never been and have the great privilege of wearing the tab that so many of y'all have earned.

Welcome to the site John. Next time you talk to your father, tell him this old Ranger thanks him for his service. Hell, for that matter, have him drop in and say hello.
He would be welcome here and I'm sure would fit right in.
Congratulations on securing your own option40 contract. It would appear you are well on your way to make a name for yourself in the SpecOps community.

Ok John,
First off welcome, you've come to the right place.
After you complete Ranger JIM's assignment, it might be in your interest to look in to getting a mentor. You've go a few months until you ship giving you plenty of time to be fully prepared, nothing could help you more than finding a mentor willing to aid you in that process.
There might even be someone in your area.
