Well, it's almost time for me to head out to WTC and after that Ft. Sam Houston for 68W school.
If all goes well and there's no reason why it won't, I'll be going for jump school and then RIP not long after that.
I'm going to fucking do this even if it damn well kills me.
I just wanted to thank the Rangers and other site members for everything that has been posted here in one way or another as there is a a wealth of knowledge here for anyone who has a passing interest to learn about or a true desire to be a Ranger.
To the younger Depper's, if an old fucker like me(i'm 36) is willing to step up and swing for the bleachers, then there is no reason at all why you can't.

Well, WTC was definitely something else and while I normally don't say much, I was never so fucking happy to leave White Sands.
I'm at FT. Sam Houston waiting to class up in a week or so and being prior service, they tend to give us a lot more freedoms than the IET kids get and after checking things out for a day or so....
I can definitely say that the Army I knew has changed in a big way.

Remember - as a leader, you still have to relate to them. Now, I'm not saying that you coddle them in any way - they will have to adapt to your leadership expectations about 80%, but there's still a 20% that is your responsibility to figure out where they're coming from and what makes them tick.Jason113 wrote:Ranger lusus, I thought I was going to shit when I saw what they let these kids get away with here at Ft. As a medic - soon to be a SGT, you'll have some of these young cell-phone Soldiers under you. Fortunately, your unit environment won't be one where you have to put up with any bullshit - but just think if you were in a regular Army unit. Leadership is so much more than "do this, do that".
Good luck.
