Questions the wife has...

Post by TheHamels »

Hey everyone, my husband recently volunteered to go Ranger, he was already accepted to Airborne which he'll be off to pretty soon here after he finishes AIT for 25 Sierra. I'm just wondering, if he gets accepted for Ranger, is there any possibility that we could get Fort Lewis since that's one of the three Ranger batallions? Or does being in satellite communications pretty much mean we are stuck here in Georgia for the remainder of his enlistment? I hate Georgia.... well, I guess I don't HATE Georgia, I like the people here and all I just hate the humidity (I know cry you a river right?). I read that Fort Bragg is the only base that has Airborne satellite communications so I'm pretty sure that if he doesn't get to go off to RIP after jump school then that's where we will be for the next few years. Oh yeah, and when he was in basic it was over christmas time and they got to leave on Exodus for two weeks right in the middle of BCT, and now it's lookin like if he does get to go off to RIP its going to be 2.5-3 weeks before christmas again, would they just keep doing training even during xmas, or would they delay the start of it till after the new year, or would they start it before, then have a break then go back to finish it up? Alright I'm gonna shut up now and give someone a chance to answer me..... but just a warning I got lots of questions and my husband doesn't really have any answers for me.
