Greetings
Hello Gentlemen,
I started my career in the army immediately after high school. Went field artillery and enjoyed the soldier life. Was lucky enough to meet some cool guys that lived in the top floor of the billets in Korea was convinced from there on out Infantry was the way to go. I asked for reenlistment if they guaranteed Ranger School, hopes I could then go FISTER or IN the retention NCO couldn't guarantee it so I decided to go the school and ROTC route and branch IN no guarantee there either, but an opportunity to lead from the front and Ranger School was guaranteed if I was IN branched. I had an opporunity to do the NG during college and it was worthwhile being a dot having the NCO's and Officers training and mentoring me at the same time. (Highly recommend if going ROTC go as SMP).
Long and short of it graduated and received my branch choice of INFANTRY. Went to IOBC, Airborne and then last stop before a unit was RANGER School. I was a lucky one who ended up in the hospital with a knee the size of a soft ball and flexibility of zero going into Mountains. CPT _ _ _ patched me up and I started lawn mower duty. Restarted Mountains and it flared up again. Spent more time mowing the beautiful hillsides and chopping firewood. Finally pushed to Florida after the second time, don't ask I finally reached the objective.
Had a change of orders and went to The Old Guard where I had the Honor to pay final Respects to our fellow Brothers in Arms.
Left active duty and went back to the Guard, and came right back to duty with this unit to continue the War on Terror.
This may be the longest thing I ever wrote minus an OPORD.
I hope to continue service and go to the SOCOM world but as a Guardsman and looking to make some good contacts. IL is not to far to drive. And as always improve the fighting position.

Re: Greetings
Damn, OPORD, and I thought I had a diverse career. Are you currently commanding a rifle company? Have you considered Title 32? Title 10? Oh, and Welcome...Overwatch wrote:Hello Gentlemen,
