I hope I'm doing this right, I've seen how merciless you guys can be. I was in the Infantry 9/81-9/85. I started as 11C, then switched to 11B and got re-trained 11M. I was in 1/52 Inf. in Bamberg, Germany, and 1/5 Cav in Ft. Hood Tx. Normal Army schooling (PNOC, NBC school, and a patrolling school run by the SF group in Germany) I really enjoy the stories that get posted and will wish to the day I die that I had waited and got a contract for Airborne and Rangers.

Ranger Silverback, if I may, it's actually PCT.

uberdave, was that school at Camp Word or something like that? My memory sure is not what it used to be...

Thanks for the welcome all. To answer a couple of questions, the patrolling school was in fact called platoon confidence training. I don't remember the name of the facility it was run from, only that it consisted of a few tarpaper shacks and a flagpole. Our battalion also spent 2 weeks at the MOUT facility at Hammelburg and were with the Red forces during the Reforger that year. All in all, a great way to spend the summer. I was lucky because they were so under-manned for 11 Bravos, they let me train with them alot.
