Elevated Pushups.
Rangers, Why is it harder for me to do normal pushups rather than doing elevated pushups? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Since elevated pushups are suppose to be harder to do since more weight is being applied to your arms.

If elevated push ups are easier your feet aren't high enough.
Take them off of the dictionary your using and put 'em up on the fucking wall where they belong!

There are some different mechanics involved in a regular pushup versus an elevated pushup. In the regular pushup, your core muscles do a tremendous amount of work in keeping your back straight. As you elevate your feet, more weight is placed on your shouldler girdle, triceps and pecs, but less is plcaed on your core - your lower back and abs. Proportionately developed, you should be able to do more regular pushups than elevated. In your case this is not true. Are you failing with your arms on the regular pushups, or with your form, as in keeping your body straight? And if your concern is making a max score on pushups, practice only those and forget about doing them elevated. Yeah, and I'm a FOG, but can still do a hundred.

Yeah I got it Ranger but this dude doesn't warrant me taking the time to post it. Just when I think I've seen and heard every single dumb question there is someone sooner or later comes along and slaps my blackass up side the head with another "original" question.
But since you mentioned it I'll post it for this young lad to observe and carry out.

I'll say this once more, slowly: elevated... pushups... place... more... weight... on... your... arms... shoulders... and... chest...
Your problem must be mental. You probably enjoy doing the elevated and that makes them easier. So drop the elevated ones and just do regular pushups until you're at the point where you can max the test. And do yourself a favor and don't reply.
