Rangers, Veterans and Members:
I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and has a Happy New Year.
I am currently home on Exodus vacation from week 7 on Sand Hill. So far it has basically been what I expected it was going to be (except colder). For the most part, it has been a lot easier than what I expected, and I didn’t set the bar too high. I think 30th AG may have been the most boring ten days of my life and I feel for those who get stuck there longer than I did. Stay away from the greasy line at chow, I saw guys eating hamburgers, French fries, cake and ice cream twice a day for the whole time we were there. You don’t get smoked and you can’t run so plan on PT’ing on your own in the bay as you will have a lot of down time.
It was funny all the rumors that were flying around before we got shipped down range. I just sat back with wide eyes and listened to it all. We shipped on 28 Oct 2005 to F Co. 1-19. I can confidently say that I was the first in our company to get smoked. I worked my way to the side door of the cattle car before we stopped and when the door flew open I jumped out, made a hard right and plowed straight into my (what would later be) Senior Drill Sergeant, but I wasn’t remembered for it. I was assigned to first platoon. We have 19 Option 40’s, 3 18X’s, NG’s and a bunch of “$400 extra a monthers.â€
JT SITREP
Lots of info in there for us, JT, thank you. Enjoy the break and good luck upon your return to Benning.

Good SITREP. Don't forget to PT and stay as focused as you can during your time home. Enjoy your family and friends, but don't lose sight of the fact that your shooting and PT scores need to improve (I'm assuming that you weren't the lone Expert on the range). Go back ready to meet your goals. I look forward to hearing more good reports.
