Dont pay to help

Post by Speedracer »

I just found out last night I lost a good friend just because he was trying to help a friend in need.

The guy was a Marine Vietnam Vet who started his own business after he returned and became a much respected business man from it. He was also a dirt track driver who ran mostly at the southern tracks. His oldest daughter became a very good driver due to him also. He was a big family man he had over 7 kids from two marriages.

He bought the local dirt track a few years ago and brought it up to a very good facility to race at. During the passed two years he had to close it due to his wife being very sick, unfortunately he lost her last April 05.

The day after Christmas a good close friend of theirs was being abused by her boy friend and she needed to get out of his house, Mike went over to help her move once they new he wasn’t around after the returned from taking the first load the girl went it to the house and was shot in the chest by the boy friend, then turned to the door and shot mike in the chest as he came in the door, he fell back outside, the boy friend then shot himself.

Mike Hines was a man who would give his shirt off his back or give you his last dollar to help you out.

Mike you will be missed at the track my friend

Rest easy

If this is in the wrong spot Ill start knocking them out.

That's fucked up Speed, sorry to hear of their murder. Find comfort in knowing that your friend is up above and that slug is down below.

Brother that is going to be a terrible blow to live with for awhile. I worry all the time about my Brother's out helping other's, as we do have a tendancy to get involved in these types of issue's more than most. I have this bullfighter Brother that I worry about continuously... But having worked with these types of incidents for the past forever, it seems that all we can do is our best and trust our training and instincts as there is no amount of advise that's going to stop of from coming to another's aid when asked, it is after all who we are.

I will keep your Brother, his family and you in my prayer's. I wish you God's peace, it seems with hurricaines and now this, you've certainly had alot to carry of late. Do feel free to let me know if I can assist in any way at all.

Godspeed,

A salute to Mike and all men like him. Sometimes there are consequences for doing the right thing, but the right things have to be done. I'll bet that Mike is up there saying he'd do it all over again. God bless him.
