Weidert wrote:Hey, I have a question about buying a ruck. I know to buy an ALICE rucksack but there was so damn many I'm having a hard time figuring out which would be best to get. http://www.armynavyshop.com/Merchant2/m ... ode=rc2252 this was the one I was looking at but there was a huge ass list of rucks. Here's a list. http://www.armynavyshop.us/alice-packs-backpacks.html

I'll either buy one or get one for my b-day coming up in the begining of March.

Thanks

I looked at the top link, rc2252 for $63 looks ok. I personally believe that a ruck with a frame better distributes the weight of the back pack over a larger area. The heavier the ruck the better the weight being spread instead of just a back pack minus the frame pushing into 1 single point of your back is gonna hurt after awhile.

Weidert-

You looking to get one to ruck with?

You need a large alice pack...

http://www.armynavyshop.com/Merchant2/m ... ode=rc2266

DON"T buy it from there-that's way too expensive....

Search around some more...check ebay too......

I'll snoop a bit.

Roger that wm311, my conversation was on frame on ruck being better than ruck without frame. ruck on! I figure Weidert knows what size he wants.

I think the boy is confused, I just wanted to steer him in the right direction.....The large alice is the way to go, it's the Ranger standard.

Weidert.....

Go with the best value for the cheapest money...I saw one of those had a S&H charge of $19.95.

What state are you in? NY?

You can always check Bradley's surplus...
