I've got a few questions about the Ranger process. Do you go through Ranger School after R.I.P.? Are you a Ranger after R.I.P. or Ranger School? Some websites I've been to say that after you go through Ranger school you get the Beret and Tab, and others say after you go through R.I.P. you get the Beret and Tab. Which is correct? Thanks for your time Rangers.

This is an easy topic to SEARCH. Following OSUT and Jump School, if you have an Option 40 contract (Rangers), you will be picked up at Jump School Graduation by a couple mean-looking guys in Tan Berets. They will 'escort' you to RIP.
RIP stands for Ranger Indoctrination Program. It's purpose is to acclimate you to life in a Ranger Battalion: 1st and 2nd Bats are in Georgia; 2nd Bat is in Washington State.
Upon successful completion of RIP, you earn the Tan Beret, along with the title "Ranger." You will also wear the Ranger Scroll of your assigned Battalion.
Months later (possibly even a year or two later), when your Squad Leader feels you are ready for it, you are sent to Ranger School. This is an intense school, designed to train you to be a Leader and master all Rangering skills. If you successfully graduate this school, you are awarded the Black and Gold Ranger Tab.
Most people/web sites consider you a Ranger if:
You graduated RIP and served at a Ranger Battalion;
You graduated Ranger School;
or you were a LRRP in VietNam.
