Hello. I'm 21 and a college student. I will be graduating in December. I am currently a DEP, and I ship for BCT at Fort Benning on March 1, 2006 with OCS to follow starting May 15, 2006.
I feel that there is a strong chance that I will be branched Infantry after OCS, and this is the assumption that I am working under. If this occurs, I plan to take the training opportunities which will be offered to me including Ranger School and Airborne School. I want to be ready physically and as ready mentally as I can be.
God gave me two ears and two eyes but only one mouth, so this will probably be about the only thing that I have to say here for a while. Thank you for allowing me to eavesdrop.

See the Heathen is one mere OCS candidate short of a full meal... We try and try to balance his diet but he keeps chewing them up and spitting them out. We don't really know what to do. I mean fuck, how does one train a Heathen to kill, cook and eat properly... When really all they enjoy is the killing part and all we enjoy... Well, really that's about all we enjoy too.
Hmmm... You are maybe a bit slow, maybe not but in case you are I am going to be decent and try and break it down in simpler terms for you. Close your eyes and imagine you are standing on a set of train tracks, when all of the sudden you hear that train whistle blow, the ground shakes from the train roaring closer and closer and there's nothing, I mean nothing you can do about it. It's as if your feet are actually stuck there between the tracks. And when you open your eyes, that train... That huge massive hunk of steel is barrelling down upon you at a speed you can hardly comprehend. It's mere feet away... And you have that deer caught in the headlights look, your Levi's all pissy now. Well, that would really be about the position you're in. So, the only thing left to do is, well fuck enjoy the ride.
