Post by JayD aka FNG »

Hello, sirs.

My name is Jay, I'm 24 and I work at a job that I hate. I was homeschooled, and got a GED in Washington state, and now am living with my parents in California (for the third time).

At this time, I'm looking at joining the Army for a variety of reasons.. a few of which include my sense of patriotism, my lack of progress in life, and some others. I guess I want to do something I can look back on and feel proud of.. and I think I need a kick in the ass to get me going. I want, for once, to do something "all the way".. The more I learn about the Rangers, from reading various forums and stories on the 'net, the more I feel that the Rangers is what I want to do. I haven't spoken with an Army Recruiter yet, just because I talked to the Navy and decided it wasn't for me.. and the guy didn't stop calling me for 9 months

Right now, I'm mostly just forum lurking on the 'net absorbing info.. and when I registered for an account I saw that an intro was required. I found about this forum from the guys over at "SOCNET: The SpecialOperations.com Bulletin Boards"

I'd just like to add that I have the utmost respect and reverence for anyone who has served our great country in the armed forces, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your many sacrifices. It is a tradition that I pray I might one day have a chance to live up to.

Jay

PS Who picked out the girls for the newts avatars? I swear he hates all newts. Ugliest damn....

Jay, you came to the right place to get a kick in the ass. We got some of the best ass kickers on the planet on this site. As far as looking back and feeling proud, I think earning the right to be called an Army Ranger is at or near the top of any list.

Welcome Jay, Learn and listen all you can on this sight. Expect to get your ass kickin one day. However never quit and earn the tab and one day you'll do some ass kickin. Not to mention the pride and respect from people that you don't even know. Nothin is more kickass that a soldier in his Class-A's with jump boots and a tan ( or maroon ) beret.
