Blisters and Boots
I found that once to the point of being raw, that moleskin patches help.
I like Dr. Shool's inserts and I took an old well worn in pair of boots to Ranger School so that there were no surpises with the boots.
Good Luck!

Try rubbing vaseline on the inside heel of your boots especially around the seams before long movements.

My method may sound stupid, but it worked for me.
Don't wear socks. This will hurt for the first little while you try it, but after your feet get used to it, things will be great on your feet.
The theory: My feet would blister whenever my socks would get wet, and the rubbing just peeled skin off my feet. If you have wet socks, you have wet feet, even long after your boots dry. So, to kill 2 birds with one stone, I stopped wearing socks. 1. I never had to change my socks, and 2. In jungle boots (which dry out pretty quickly) there is room for air circulation around your feet which keeps them dryer, and less likely to blister.
Warning: this is a gradual solution. I mentioned this method to fellow Ranger School students when they kept asking why I never wore socks. I told them not to try it until after they graduated, but a few of them did and had a very tough time walking after a day or two.
This method may or may not work for you, it's just a suggestion.

That is how I do it, exception the winter time. Put 100mph tape over the areas that usually blister. Wear the boots wet and ruck more. When you get the blisters get some tincture of benzion and spray it on. It will feel real good and your feet will be good to go in 30 min.RiserBurn wrote:My method may sound stupid, but it worked for me.

Don't listen to Goog. The way to do it if you don't want blisters is to wear your socks/boots for a good 3-4 days prior to the foot march. The toe jam and foot crud will stick to your bottom of the sock creating a second skin. This will stop friction and just about everything else. You may laugh but it works, only if your feet are not wet. Oh yeah, lighten your load in the field by not carrying toothpaste. Copenhagen does the same job. What's up Jim!

You're going to get blisters eventually. There's no easy way out. The best is to keep on marching to form thick callous on your soles.
If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.
