I think that women should be in the military, but they should not be in an elite unit such as the Ranger Batts? No. I disagress with the statement about the social aspects of raising girls and boys. I was raised as a highly prissy girl, but I was also taught about weapons. Hell I out-shoot most men I know. But, could I keep up physically to PT standards for men? Running, probably. Sit-ups, definatey, Push-ups, Hell no.

I only weigh 105lbs. My husband loaded up a ruck for me to carry just to see if I could, plus weapons and ammo. I barley made it across the room. Could other women do it? Maybe, but I know I couldn't. This is definatly for men. Plus, what guy wants to stop in the middle of a march through enemy territory so that a chick could change her tampon?
I spent some time at college. Not all Rangers are uniedcatedd.

I would have been more than happy to say that, however, being a class presentation, I felt it better to somewhat modify the language :D For a different audience, I would have presented it differently :D

Ah, my apologies then.
The way the response was worded in the PM made it seem as though I wasn't intelligent enough.

Ranger2 wrote:I agree somewhat. One point I will give you on how we are raised is to look at Tltle IX which is the law for allowing the same number of sports for women and men in college sports. I think this law has given women some great opportunities. If you look at the average women athlete today over 20 years ago when I was in high school there is a huge difference. Women today are far better athletes and much of it is due to this law. This is a change on how women are raised and viewed. In the past not only didn't women have the opportunity but they also didn't get the training that was needed to become that better athlete.

The womens marathon time has been dropped dramaticly but the mens hasn't in the same time period. Another example if given the opportunity and training women can be great athletes but that same women marathoner while very qualified at her sport would still have trouble carrying the large weight required of a Ranger and a women large enough and strong enough would have trouble running with Rangers. So while great improvements in the athletic ability of women have taken place the average women is still hard pressed to keep up especially given the hard physical demands of Ranger life.

I can't disagree with anything you've said Ranger Ranger2 :D

Wow, thanks :)

I have to say I am glad so many liked it, I was concerned about accuracy, as best possible (hope to god there is NEVER a "First Woman" in the Rangers!!!!!) and apparently I achieved it (excepting of course actual languaged used, as Ranger H8 Train pointed out).
