Use a pistol....
instead of a knife or a rifle. Better yet a 1000 pound bomb while you sit back and feel the ground shake. All this bullshit about using a knife and acting like Brue Lee will = you being room temp.
Good point. Knifes are for utility purposes.
Yes, like running some son of a bitch clean through before he does the same to you. Any one of the following utility knives work great:
Cold Steel master tanto
Randall made #1 fighter
Chris Reeve project 1 or2
Gerber Mk1 or 2 (if you can still find them)
SOG Trident
Sykes Fairbain stilletto (like the one at the Ranger Memorial)
Sorry H8 could'nt help it! :) :) :)

Well, if my wife ever wore a bra....I would!Ranger2 wrote:Yeah like you have ever done that.EarthPig wrote:It impresses the chicks when you whip out a Cold Steel Tanto and slice their bra strap during the heat of passion. Then you hold it between your teeth, while servicing them.![]()

Always remember: BROS BEFORE HOES.
In the entire time I was with L Company, there were two items I almost never saw a Ranger take to the bush: a knife and a handgun. Why carry that almost worthless dead weight when you can carry some extra water instead? God invented grenades for close combat.

I think he meant GRITS! :)Vee wrote:hobbit wrote:God invented grenades for close combat.
GOD invented them?:?
Many of us carried a hand gun, and nearly all the 173rd LRRPs carried knives. The knife was a tool, not entended for use in combat. The hand gun provided a small amount of "peace of mind"....the weight was worth it.
I never wore a cape, but I still have my dog tags.

I promise you Vee, that in the midst of exploding frags and whizzing projectiles, the only thing on the minds of the vast majority of humanity in that situation, is God.
"Many of us carried a hand gun"
I wonder if Roy Boatman would agree? Show me a picture of any N Company team member carrying a hand gun. I've never seen one. You won't find one amongst the 1000 or so photos we have cataloged for the 101st LRRP/Rangers either (only about 1/3 of our photos are online). We didn't even keep hand guns in the weapons bunker. I don't even recall our CO having one. If he went out, he carried a shotgun. Hand guns were a joke in a war zone. Even the pilots in I Corps carried M-16s. The jet jockeys carried them, but then they didn't have room for anything else.
