Yes you have to be a US Citizen. We don't take greencards or resident cards that is like trying to pay for something with Monopoly money.NateTheGreat wrote:Thank you Rangers,
Ranger Spartan, so in order to get a ranger contract at all I have to be a legal US citizen, I cannot just hold a Greenhard or permenent Resident Card?

I'm sry Ranger Spartan, Ranger V-Rod, Ranger Abell9, Ranger SaltBitch and Ranger Steadfast, for my ignorance and I will never again second guess an established member the site. One answer once is all I need.
Well, kinda depressed here now, my dreams kinda shattered. I was hoping to get my greencard this month or two. I can join the 82nd Airborne right? Are there any other vigroues non special forces Divsions that a Greencard holder like myself could try to go through? Ive heard a lot of storys from regular soldiers that there active duty was not very active...

Sorry if anyone finds this demining or offensive. What about "mercinaries" Ive heard/watched about a group that operates as mercinary type force. They were active in Aftrica a while back.. I think it was before 1993.
Thank you very much and I'm sorry for my past/present ignorance

Nate, you are not demeaning us. And forget about becoming a Mercenary. You have to have many years as a soldier 1st or someone in your group will kill you. A seasoned vet will know what to watch out for. Take one step at a time. That is the way to learn. One step at a time.NateTheGreat wrote:I'm sry Ranger Spartan, Ranger V-Rod, Ranger Abell9, Ranger SaltBitch and Ranger Steadfast, for my ignorance and I will never again second guess an established member the site. This is probably a stupid dumb question, but could I serve in the other 3 regiments?
Yep.
That's a stupid question.
Look, we're here to help, true....but the information you're looking for is already on the site.
Use the search feature at the top of the page.
Oh...and what about the other 71 regiments? Don't like those?

What part of Ranger Spartan's post didn't you understand? You ain't a citizen. You can't get a security clearance. You can't join the Ranger's without a security clearance.Ranger Spartan wrote:Posted: Thu Sep 30, 2004 11:41 am
Nate:
My advise would be to work on becoming a US Citizen if you are not already, as that is what you need to be to get a Ranger contract. This is a later stumbling block for many who wish to try as it is necessary to have a security clearance to do so and you cannot get that without being a US Citizen first.
Good luck.
Oh, I see now Nate. Yeah, that is right. No non-citizens in 75th Ranger Regiment. Yes, yes, all the non-citizens are either in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Battalion's of the 75th Ranger Regiment
