Good Evening Everyone,
My name is Brian, I am a 27 year old college graduate and I am currently working in corporate America. I have secured an 11x option 40 and my ship date is set for 19 May 2014. My decision to join the Army and try out for the Rangers has been a long one in the making. As a child I always looked up to men in uniform and thought it was something I would do when I got older. I made the decision to go to college, and have been working for the past few years, but the thought of joining the Army has always been on my mind. I thought long and hard and decided that I cannot sit around any longer and let my dream pass me by. I don't wont to grow old and regret not doing this. I only have one life to live and I have made the decision to join and try to become apart of the Ranger Regiment.
I have always been an active person, and fitness has always been one of my top priorities. I recently took my first Army APFT with my recruiter and my results were as follows:
Push Ups: 84
Sit Ups: 80
2 Mile Run: 13:15
I was hoping for a better run time, but have been dealing with some minor shin splints and am now taking a few days rest and icing my shins. I have a little over five weeks before I ship at this point and my goals before I ship are to get 100+ push ups, 100+sit ups, 2 mile run at 12:30, and of course to stay as healthy as possible.
I am here to learn as much as I can between now and my ship date. This is an amazing site and I want to thank all of the Rangers for taking their personal time to help us who are hoping to one day become apart of the Ranger Regiment.
