Hello Rangers,
My name is Dan and I am currently at DLI in a CAT language graduating in 2014, after which I have AIT at Goodfellow AFB. I'm with a small family and a college degree.
I want to be a Ranger because I want to serve and be numbered among the best trained and most capable soldiers in the world. The direct action mission of the Rangers is where I want to be; boots on the ground getting things done. I want to push myself to find my limits and then overcome them, and I want to be surrounded by men of high caliber with the same determination.
I've been trying to find as much information about the Rangers as possible and in my search I had a hard time coming across information about MICO. As a 35P, I figure that's where my MOS would take me in the Ranger Battalion (if I'm wrong in this assumption please let me know). I wanted to know what the mission/use of a 35P in the Ranger world looks like. I've talked to some green berets here at DLI and have a rough picture of what a SOT-A team attached to an ODA would be doing, and I wondered if the MICO mission is similar? Any insights into MICO training, missions and ground work would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: INTRO- Dan
Welcome.
My point of question is are you in or are not in the military. Our FAQ's (atop civilian forum) say not to use anything army in your name. We do not consider you army until you have completed AIT. So you would need a name change - thats my department.
I'll be back later for a response/clarification.
These few acronyms are difficult to a FOG (like myself). So you are not past AIT which will come in Feb 2014?excerpt of armylinguist123: I am currently at DLI in a CAT
