Introduction - Nick (FS)

Post by NSB »

Hello Rangers,

First off I would like to thank you all for the information that I have received by reading through some of your posts. I have learned information that will most likely make my journey slightly easier. (PS, some of your guys' posts are hilarious. I don't believe that I have ever laughed so much by just reading.)

My name is Nick. I am 18 years old and I have been lucky enough to have enlisted in the Army with an 11X option 40 contract under the delayed entry program. I have a little over a month until I ship for OSUT where I hope to hit the ground running.

When I first began speaking with a recruiter, I had my mind set on taking an 11X contract. I began doing a little research and stumbled upon the Rangers, and I was fascinated. I want to be the best of the best, and I will do anything that it takes to make that happen.

I am 5'6 and 150 lbs.

My last AFPT that I took at my recruiting station:
58 push-ups
58 sit-ups
2 mile in 16:32 (I've never been a strong runner)

I have read over some of the work outs posted on this site, and I will go over them a few more times and decide how to best use them. I have never technically had a set workout routine that I would do.

Anyway, thank you for your time in reading this, and I hope that the insight that I receive from this website, and all of you Rangers, will help make my goal a little easier.

Ranger Sledge Hammer, I am currently creating a weekly work-out schedule based on some of the work-outs posted on this website. I will always give one-hundred percent and then some.

APFT self-administered on 20130804

Push-ups: 38
Sit-ups: 67
2mi run: 16:47
Pull-ups: 4

I'm extremely disappointed in the fact that my push-ups and run times both worsened. I also need to work on my pull-ups. It looks like I still have a lot of work to do in the little amount of time that I have left, but I will never quit.

You need to start PTing your ass off. You have only a short time before you ship. Never, never quit!
