Introduction - Mom

Post by 6campers »

Hello Rangers,
I have been lurking and reading on these forums for some time and wanted to introduce myself. My son has completed infantry OSUT and airborne. He is starting RASP. I'm very proud of his efforts so far and can't wait to see him fulfill his goal of becoming a Ranger. I don't have any specific questions right now, but I'm sure I will at some point. Thank you for this website, but, most of all, thank you for your service!

Hi Ranger Jim,

He actually is starting RASP today. I was a little surprised by this because I thought that the next RASP class wasn't until August. I think he's just happy to move on while he's still in the training mindset.

There are a number of threads that discuss what he is experiencing. Look at the letters from school thread.

Thank you for the welcome. I will let you know what I hear from my son. It's nice to know that I have somewhere to get questions or concerns addressed.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but we got the call yesterday. My son made it through Cole Range. He is so pumped (and chafed). They don't want future RASP enlistees to know about what's coming up so I don't want to say much. He did say that you could tell who went through Cole Range because they're all limping! He's got that tan beret in his sights.

Thanks, TX Army mom! You're right - the best phone call so far. I didn't realize how on edge we had been all week waiting to find out until it was over. My husband and I wandered around the house last night with big smiles pasted on our faces! We are so proud of him.

We have three of our Mentees in your son's class. It appears that he is in a tough class, look at the letters from school, as they have been keeping us up to speed with what is going on. Please invite your son here.
