I want to be a Ranger...

Hi, I'm Jason. I am 17 and I am talking to a recruiter I have told him that I wanted to be a Ranger and I asked about a option 40 contract he said he had never heard of it. He said there was a option 4 contract but he hadn't heard of option 40. He was in infantry for 6 years. He told me that in his platoon they would send the top 3 guys to go and try out for Ranger school but that unless you got picked then well then you were just stuck... I don't want to seem rude and or stupid at the time so I dropped it. I then confirmed that I was right about the whole option 40 contract. What should I say? Do you think that he possibly just told me he didn't know what it was because, well not sure why he would hide that from me but hell just because? Thanks for your time Rangers.
