Evening Rangers,
My name is John and I am 19 years old. I am not enrolled in school right now but am working on enlisting in the Army with a option 40 11b or 68w or whatever comes sooner. My recruiter says he's never even heard of a 40 with 68w so my chances of getting that are low. I am also considering enlisting with a 68w and no option 40, or even an option 40 with 91b (light wheel vehicle mechanic). There are lots of choices running through my mind and have not figured out what I want most; medical or mechanical. For work, I help my dad restore muscle cars which has been his business for many years. Maybe I'll take it over one day. I am here to learn and take in any advise or tips anyone with military experience has to offer. Thanks for viewing.

Decent PT stats until I saw the last one. Was that a 2 Mile Run or 2 Mile Ruck? There is a lot of information on here about improving run times.

It was a 2 mile "slow" run Ranger Elmo, I'm more of a weight lifter.Elmo wrote:Decent PT stats until I saw the last one. Was that a 2 Mile Run or 2 Mile Ruck? There is a lot of information on here about improving run times.

Good intro. Heed ZoneIVs input & learn to move that large frame "in a timely manner".
There's a lot here already posted on getting one of the best jobs in Regiment - the 68W.
If you enlist for that MOS (or any other, for that matter) without the Option 40, make sure you max that PT test across the board and do just as well academicaly so that you'll be acceptable to the Ranger laison. Make sure you at least get an Option 4 so that you'll be assured of a shot at jump school. Half the battle is just getting to Ft Benning.
Excel & the doors might very well open.
"good luck" is preparation meeting opportunity.
