Wise move. Going back in as an 18x is much better than what most prior service guys have to chose from these days. Hell, maybe you can talk to the Ranger recruiter in airborne school and see if you can drop 18x in exchange for a RASP slot. Not sure if that is possible or how it would work...but you can always ask, right?
Either way bro, 18x or opt. 40, your getting a shot at an elite special operations unit that will allow you to fight the GWOT and take it to the enemy. Either route will challenge you both mentally and physically. Either route will be extremely rewarding for you. Give 'em hell!
