Hello, Rangers. My name is Ben, I've just enlisted on 20110603 with a 68w contract with hopes to obtain a contract in AIT. I come from a family of tradesmen, I have extended family who have been in the marines but I'm the first to be full active army.

I was planning on joining the Army last fall but the Army was not accepting GEDs so I planned for college this coming fall to become an Engineer. I was told that the Army's stance on GEDs changes daily, so I called the next day and sure enough they were taking GEDs and 2 weeks later I dropped my plans for college and did the Oath of Enlistment.

My parents are behind me 100% - Both are concerned, particularly my father. At this point in my life, this is what I believe I need, I want and I will have.

I will attempt to extend all courtesies due to Rangers and other personnel on these forums. I've been a long time reader here, first time poster and I don't suspect I will have many posts/questions beyond what I've read on here already.
