Introduction - Justin
Ranger,
My name is Justin. I am 24. I have posted on here before but my account (of a similar name) was deactivated after a change of email address and since then was never reactivated.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the plethora of wisdom shared on this site by the Rangers and all other contributors. My previous introduction was posted April 20, 2010 and is as follows:
Over the past year in school I have taken courses concerning First Aid, CPR and other subjects of that nature which have redirected my interest from an 11x OPT 40 contract to that of a 68W OPT 40 contract.
As some of you may have read in my few previous posts I was working with a Doctor to have my neck tattoos lasered off so that I could in fact join. Over the past year I have done everything from laser sessions to writing letters to public officials and even to the white house to get my questions answered concerning why I was denied the opportunity to serve my country simply because of two non-offensive tattoos. Well as mentioned I have tried everything and done everything short of getting a plastic surgeon involved and quitting that is. As stubborn as I am I hounded different recruiters in different districts, researched the Army Regs, hounded more recruiters, and finally as off two weeks ago, my waiver magically passed! Apparently perseverance does pay off when you're chasing a dream.
I head to MEPS monday to get my physical and start the process of getting a contract squared away. Thus is why my constant lurking on the forum over the past year will no longer suffice. I have questions I need answered and there is no other better resource then asking past and present Rangers.

Since then a fair amount has progressed.Hello Rangers,
My name is Justin. I am 23 and from Virginia. I am currently working as a Network Engineer for the time being. I am also a part time student. I came across this site about a month ago when searching for information in preparing myself to enlist. Since then, I have scoured the site and found almost every answer I was searching for whether it is pertaining to PT or Rucking or etc etc etc. As mentioned in this forum many times before "The Search Button is your FRIEND". Indeed it is. I would like to thank all of you Rangers and other members of our Armed Services not only for your contribution to my freedom and the freedom of everyone else in this country but for the wealth of knowledge and insight all of you have provided me by creating this site. I am currently in the process of removing tattoos whose placement on my body have denied my entry into the Army twice already. I am never one to quit anything and have wanted to be a soldier since I was a small boy, and will not let anything prevent me from doing so. I plan on enlisting within the next six months (as soon as my treatments are complete) for an 11x OPT 40 contract and will not settle for any less. I have always been one to do things 200%+ in my life and I feel that that applies in everything I do and thus is why I have been drawn to the Rangers. You Rangers are an elite brotherhood that one day I will hopefully earn the right to become a part of. Thank you.

Rangers,
Here's an update. Went to MEPS today. Got a go at every station but they didn't have Option 40 in the computer. Not for 68W at least. Liaison even called the ROC to see what they had but they said slots are filled through September.
The kid right before me picked up an 11X Option 40 though. That burned a little considering the kid didn't even know what it was and the counselor just tacked it in for him. Best of luck to the kid though.
The liaison officer told me my best bet is to hound my recruiter and wait for them to show up in the computer so I'll stick to my guns and hold out till one shows up.

Ranger Jim,
Thank you for your swift response. I posted a question of mine in the topic and am waiting to get answers.
Thank you again for the direction.
And I will never, never quit. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I won't settle for less. I want the scroll, I want the tab and I will dig a tunnel into that brotherhood if I have to do it with my bare hands.

Re: Introduction - Justin
You failed to follow instructions. If you had just read the guidance the Chief Medic of the 75th Ranger Regiment passed on, there are not going to be Option 40s for MOS 68W. That's why I gave you the link. Please don't waste my time.Precision_Hell wrote:Ranger Jim,
