My Cousin is dating some new guy that hits her. The man claims to be an ex-cage fighter and Airborne Ranger/Sniper that did a tour in Korea served in 13th Ranger BATTALION, but can't say anything else becuase of the top secret nature of that unit. This information is second hand and I have always suspected my cousin of being slightly retarded, so she might have mixed up the info. If she has'nt however, the 13th battalion must be one hell of a top secret unit .

Also, if this guy happens to be the real deal do I still have rights to punch his lights out for abusing my cousin, or am to low on the totem pole for that?

I'd say you need the year he was inferring to be in Korea - Bet it wasn't during Korean conflict of 48-53. Cause that would make him in his late 60's to mid 70's.

I don't think any US Ranger unit was in Korea since irregardless.

Him being in his late 40's (say minus 18 years) means after the Vietnam Era prolly like 1980's time frame - so he's full-o-shit.

But I digress. Was he saying he did a tour in Korea with this "Ranger" unit, as in he was stationed in Korea; or is he saying he was a Ranger during the Korean War? Seems like I recall hearing that one of the grunt units that sit on the DMZ have some kind of subunit that likes to wear scrolls.

The guys at the JSA on the DMZ (Panmunjom) who do joint border patrols with the ROK Army wear a scroll. They are infantry but don't claim any Ranger-ness. Unless they went to Ranger School prior.. or were a prior Batt-boy (plenty of those up there). I had lots of interaction with that unit during my last tour in Korea. On a side note, as much as I hate to say it, it doesn't take Dr. Phil to tell that you cousin has issues if she is still with (or hasn't fucked up herself) a guy that has hit her. It's only going to get worse. I don't know how you could convince her, but she needs help. Without being preachy, remind her that it is never right to hit someone you are involved with, and offer her as much as you can without forcing the issue.

I agree. Sounds like a douche to me. However, if you really think your cousin is half retarded maybe take everything she says with a grain of salt. I.E. maybe she is not being completely honest about anything. I've never hit a woman in my life but ask any of my ex-fuck buddies and I am the worst person on the planet.
