Looking for some advice

Post by soldier7489 »

Good Morning All,

I just got an update from my Retention NCO that all 42A1O's must re-class if they want to re-enlist. I have already re-enlisted before that message came out from DA but I have been provided the opportunity to request a voluntary re-class. With the "want" of me eventually serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment sometime in the near future, I want to be able to re-class to a job that is still MTOE'd by the 75th Ranger Regiment. I can't seem to find the list of MOS's right now, but I do have 25S SATCOM Operator/Maintainer in mind. I have been told it is one of the best Communication jobs to get into and there is a need for it all around the Army, as well as in the outside world. If any of you Rangers know if this is an available MOS to the 75th Ranger Regiment and if I have a shot at going to RASP with this particular job, please let me know. Or if any of you happen to be a 25S please let me know if the job is a good one to get into. Thanks for your input.

Nothing wrong with satcom; you get to display some ingenuity and it is the commo men that hold the whole operation together.
There is a publicly viewable list of RR MOSes in one of two websites, either within this one:
http://www.goarmy.com/ranger.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or at the Ft benning site. Locate that and search for the 75th in the 'tenent units' section. Your recruiter or re-up NCO should also have this info at his fingertips. I'd provide you the exact links but since "I gots mine", I'm not searching for you. :P

Roger that, got the info I needed from my Retention NCO since I posted this. Thanks for the info though. Hopefully I can get in touch with a 75th recruiter when I go through the re-class and see if I can get a shot at RASP. Already got my physical done for it.

You should probably talk to a Regimental liason NCO sooner rather than later. I'm not sure the proper title but you can most likely find this critter through the Ft Benning site and there is some fresh info on this site somewhere too.
Meanwhile, get in better shape.
That's all I got.
