INTRO

Post by CombatMedic_OEFXVI »

All,

I enlisted in the Army National Guard in May of 2007 as a 68W(Combat Medic) right after my first semester of college. I liked the idea of helping others when no one else can or will. I too, like many others, did not know about option 40 at the time of my enlistment.<this is why I am here seeking advice and knowledge now. I was in the DEP/RSP until February of 2008, when at that point I found my ass sitting somewhere on Sand Hill, Ft. Benning GA.(Fox Co. 2/54) After all 9 weeks of that fun and excitement was over I found myself at Ft Sam Houston where I learned the fine art of saving a life. (E Co.) Upon graduation from AIT in August 2008, I was assigned to the 870th EN Co. (SAPPER) in Crestiview, FL. near Eglin AFB. I worked at the state training site for over a year and a half in the TMC and Camp MED OPS. and currently deployed as a SPT Co. Medic in Afghanistan with a special group of people based out of that very training site. I'm looking to earn a tab come hell or high water...

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.
